About.

„During the creation process, my pictures can only be controlled to a limited extent, the results can hardly be planned in advance. I have to make new decisions after each work step.“ – Robert Szczokic

Robert Szczokic (born 1981 in Prague) is a contemporary painter from Cologne, Germany. He paints abstract, non-geometric, non-objective and predominantly uses the so-called squeegee technique. This involves applying many layers of paint to canvas with sometimes very large, specially made squeegees, some of which are then removed again.

Robert is mainly inspired and influenced by the German artist Gerhard Richter. He is also inspired by international painters such as Gustav Hjelmgren, Harry Moody, Stanley Casselman, Tim Lorenz and Derek Kaplan.
